Welcome to Rentloud. By accessing or using the Rentloud website, mobile platform, or related services ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use Rentloud.
1. About Rentloud
Rentloud is a digital marketplace that connects skilled workers — such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, technicians, and similar professionals — with clients seeking their services.
Important: Rentloud does not provide skilled services directly and does not act as an employer, contractor, or agent of any user.
2. Eligibility
To use Rentloud, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information during registration
- Use the platform only for lawful purposes
Rentloud reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Skilled Workers
By registering as a skilled worker, you agree that:
- All information provided about your skills, experience, and identity is accurate
- You are solely responsible for the quality, safety, and legality of your services
- You will communicate professionally with clients at all times
- Rentloud does not guarantee jobs, income, or engagement
3.2 Clients
By registering as a client, you agree that:
- You will provide clear and honest job descriptions
- You will treat skilled workers respectfully
- You understand that Rentloud does not supervise or control workers
4. Role of Rentloud
Rentloud:
- Provides a platform for discovery, communication, and payment facilitation
- Does not supervise, manage, or perform services
- Is not a party to the service agreement between the client and worker
- Does not guarantee job outcomes or service quality
All service agreements are strictly between clients and skilled workers.
5. Payments, Fees & Escrow System
5.1 Escrow Payments
Rentloud operates an escrow-based payment system for jobs completed on the platform:
- Clients may be required to deposit payment into a secure escrow account before work begins
- Funds are held by Rentloud (or its payment partners) until job completion
- Payment is released to the skilled worker only after job completion is confirmed or according to platform rules
5.2 Release of Funds
Funds held in escrow may be released when:
- The client confirms satisfactory completion of the job, or
- A predefined job timeline expires without dispute, or
- A resolution is reached following a dispute review
Rentloud's decision on escrow release is final, subject to platform policies.
5.3 Platform Fees
Rentloud may charge transaction fees, subscription fees, and service or processing fees. All applicable fees will be clearly disclosed before payment is made.
5.4 Disputes & Refunds
- Rentloud may assist in reviewing disputes related to escrow payments
- Rentloud does not guarantee refunds
- Refund or release decisions are made based on available evidence and platform rules
- Rentloud is responsible for payment facilitation only, not service quality
5.5 Off-Platform Payments
Users are strongly discouraged from making payments outside Rentloud. Rentloud is not responsible for disputes, fraud, or losses arising from off-platform payments.
6. Verification & Trust
- Rentloud may request identity or service-related information for verification purposes
- Verification does not guarantee skill level, honesty, or job performance
- Users are advised to exercise due diligence before hiring or accepting jobs
7. Prohibited Activities
Users may not:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Use the platform for illegal purposes
- Harass, exploit, or scam other users
- Attempt to bypass or maliciously interfere with Rentloud's systems
Violations may result in account suspension, termination, or legal action.
8. Content & Profiles
- Users are responsible for all content they upload, including profiles, messages, and job descriptions
- Rentloud may remove content that violates these Terms or community standards
- By using the platform, you grant Rentloud permission to display your profile and content for platform operations
9. Account Suspension & Termination
Rentloud reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account without notice if these Terms are violated, or to remove users who harm the integrity or trust of the platform.
Users may also deactivate their own accounts at any time.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law:
- Rentloud is not liable for job outcomes, damages, or losses
- Rentloud is not responsible for injuries, property damage, or service disputes
- Rentloud's liability, if any, is limited to the applicable platform fees paid by the user
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Rentloud harmless from any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from:
- Your use of the platform
- Your interactions with other users
- Your violation of these Terms
12. Privacy
Your use of Rentloud is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
13. Modifications to Terms
Rentloud reserves the right to update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
